Friday, September 5th will be a day remembered for 3 things in RR: sweat, support, and... sausages. The day out kicked off with the Momentum Games, a fitness fundraiser for the Dublin Simon Community, and wrapped up with an epic BBQ back at RR HQ.
We entered two teams into the Games, the creatively named “RR You Ready” and “RR You Ready 2”!
Special mention must go to the 20 RR warriors (waRRiors, if you will) who gave their all on the day, especially those who made the journey from Limerick and Kerry, including Derry, Katie, Laura, and Chris – by trains, planes and automobiles. That’s commitment!
While the official leaderboard results for both teams could be generously described as middle-of-the-pack, the real competition was between our two RR squads. It gives me mixed feelings to announce that RR You Ready 2? took the crown as the top-performing RR team on the day. It was the only leaderboard that really mattered (to us) on the day.
Back to Base: BBQ at RR HQ
After the Games, we headed back to the RR office on Haddington Road, where Caio rekindled his former life as a chef and treated us to a BBQ feast that could rival any restaurant. He was chopping, marinating, and grilling from the crack of dawn, and the results were there for everyone to enjoy. We were stuffed and satisfied.
Adding a touch of elegance to the spread, Anita put together some beautiful snack arrangements - cured meats, fruits, breadsticks - all served in upcycled jars she decorated herself. Pinterest would be proud.
